Kasol is situated in Himachal Pradesh in the Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, between Bhuntar and Manikaran.

Kasol is the starting point for treks to Kheerganga, Yanker Pass, Sar Pass, and Pin Parbati Pass.

The place is particularly popular with travelers from Israel, many of whom have permanently settled here and thus the place has a unique vibe. Additionally, Kasol offers some of the best hashish including the world famous “Malana cream” thus attracting connoisseurs seeking the best smoke up experiences.

I stayed for a night in Kasol but eagerly escaped the crowds and wanna be hippies and moved towards Malana seeking tranquility, where we camped for a night in the valley below.

Malana is a small village setup atop a cliff above the Parvati river. The inhabitants here live in self-imposed isolation. The people of Malana claim themselves to be Aryan descendants, as a result of which they avoid interaction with outsiders.
